Welsh World Cup winner, Bradley Dredge, knows a great surface when he sees one, having played all over the world. Five years ago he selected Huxley Golf to install their Premier All-Weather putting green surface in his back garden.

“Having the Huxley Green at home has helped me enormously”, said Bradley. “ It has allowed me to practise my putting and chipping undisturbed, and I can do this when it suits me, just by stepping out of the back door. I’ve also found it particularly useful to practise on during the winter months when it is hard to find natural greens good enough to putt on. The Huxley Putting Green stays true all the time and the speed is close to that which I’m used to on the European Tour. Also, even after heavy rain, I find that within minutes I can be out there putting and the surface is completely unaffected.”

Routine maintenance is minimal – normally just brushing and removing any leaves or debris that falls onto the surface. During one winter, Bradley was so keen to practise on his Huxley Green that he even shovelled the snow off in order to work on his putting and chipping.

After five years Huxley Golf have recently given Bradley’s green a birthday refurbishment and he says, “It looks and plays like new. I believe it was a fantastic investment. I am amazed that the green is five years old and still reacts to a tournament standard. It truly is a superb surface and I look forward to practicing on it for many years to come.”
